🇮🇹 The Rome Update: Countdown to the Urbe Hub Grand Opening
On February 15-16, 2025, the Urbe Hub, Italy’s first web3 hub, will open its doors in Rome.
With support from the AKASHA Foundation, the urbe.eth community is opening a permanent coworking and event space for the local web3 ecosystem.
We’re looking forward to the opening event, featuring engaging talks, hands-on demos from Italian web3 projects, and plenty of opportunities to connect with hackers and enthusiasts.
We’re also pleased to announce that Mihai Alisie, Ethereum co-founder and AKASHA founder, will be speaking at the event. He will share his insights on why physical spaces for in-person connection are essential for the web3 ecosystem and decentralization to thrive.
A few other friendly faces from the AKASHA team will be there too, so feel free to stop by, say hello, and pick up some fun goodies!

🇪🇸 The Barcelona Update: Spaces, Collaborations, and Events
🌟 2 New Coworking Spaces Available
The AKASHA Barcelona Hub is excited to announce the opening of 2 new coworking spaces:
- A space dedicated to techno-politics and digital rights
- A space for citizen science projects
We are now accepting project submissions for these spaces, and the deadline for submissions is January 16, 2025.

🌟 Green City Lab: A New Collaboration
We’re pleased to announce a partnership between the Green City Lab, a community of AKASHA Hub Barcelona, and the Catalan Foundation Joaia.
Together, we’ll be transforming the garden space of the Green City Lab into a hub for inclusion. This initiative will provide individuals facing mental health challenges a supportive environment where they can build confidence, autonomy, and new skills through gardening and taking care of soil and plants.
🌟 AI Art Lab Barcelona
Our collaboration with the AI Art Lab Barcelona kicks off this January! This community will explore the intersection of art and artificial intelligence, offering a space for sharing knowledge and experimenting with the newest technologies. Don’t miss the first AI Art Lab meetup happening soon!
🌟 Upcoming Events

In other exciting news, the Barcelona Hub has partnered with Open Ensemble, a platform that brings together more than 25 cultural and creative institutions in the city. Together, we’re creating a network of people, organizations and collectives to promote citizen empowerment, digital inclusion, and local production.
🇷🇴 The Bucharest Update
Like last year, the AKASHA team is excited to announce our participation at ETH Bucharest 2025!
The event includes a Hackathon on April 2-5 and a Conference on April 4-5. Stay tuned for more details in the next newsletter!
