🇷🇴 ETHBucharest: From Code to Community

AKASHA returned to Romania in full force for ETHBucharest 2025. We hosted a workshop, joined panels, and supported builders through our hackathon bounties.

🛠️ Workshop: Building with AKASHA Core

Our hands-on session introduced developers to the AKASHA DevKit, giving them the tools to build decentralized apps using the primitives of AKASHA Core.

🎙 Panel: Hubs & Human Infrastructure

Our panel brought together community pioneers from AKASHA, Urbe, ECF, and Zuzalu to explore:

• 🧭 What makes a successful hub, from vibe to trust to local identity
• 🌍 How to stay globally aligned while deeply local
• 🛠️ How to design tools and governance that reflect Ethereum's core values
• ⚙️ Navigating friction, bureaucracy, and the long road to sustainability
• 🌱 The long game: creating human infrastructure that lasts

These conversations reminded us that Layer Zero—the human layer—is just as important as the blockchain layer. Let’s build for the long term, and build it together.

🇮🇹 Rome: Urbe Hub Scaling Up

Urbe Hub has been buzzing with activity, blending local engagement with global outreach:​

• 🧠 AI & Regulation
  The Urbe team published a thoughtful article on AI through a civic lens: “Regulating AI in a world of decentralization”.​
• 🇨🇿 Upcoming Bootcamp in Prague
  From May 26–29, Urbe is heading to Prague for a four-day bootcamp during ETHPrague, training aspiring developers to build with web3 tools.​
• 🛠️ Base Batches Collaboration
  Base is a layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum using optimistic rollups, developed by Coinbase on the OP Stack. As part of Base’s global buildathon, Urbe is opening the doors of the Urbe Hub and hosting sessions in Italian to help local devs build onchain apps.
• 🚀 Starknet Rome Meetup (April 17)
  A deep dive into Starknet’s tech stack by Urbe. Starknet is a layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum using zero-knowledge rollups (ZK-rollups), developed by StarkWare.

🇪🇸 Barcelona: Learning from the Ground Up

Spring bloomed with curiosity and collaboration at the AKASHA Hub in Barcelona. We hosted 3 thought-provoking events that drew deeply from both the earth and the ether:​

• 📚 How to Make Books More Sustainable? (March 28)
  Inspired by Low-Tech Magazine, this event explored compression as a design philosophy, proving that sustainability is not just about materials, but ideas too.
• ☁️ Kubernetes Networking 101 (April 3)
  A deep dive into the invisible plumbing of modern applications, with Nadia Santalla from Grafana Labs guiding us through pod IPs, kube-dns magic, and load balancing.
• 🌱 Taller de Suelos Vivos (April 7)
  A science-based card game and workshop revealing the hidden ecosystem beneath our feet, emphasizing the intelligence living just below the surface.

🌍 From Naples to Milan: Local Sparks, Global Spirit

Under the Milanese sun, Appcon hosted a panel on “Ethereum in the Real World”, featuring AKASHA Barcelona’s Nikoline, Urbe’s Limone.eth, and SpaghettETH’s Bia, moderated by Jacopo from Slice.

Meanwhile, Urbe Campus – NapulETH Edition is gearing up for July in Naples, for a weeklong Solidity bootcamp and dapp development workshop right before the hackathon. Education meets southern hospitality.​
